Mangalore : The CPI (M) organized a Tashildar Office Chalo and Dharna in front of DC Office on July 25, Monday demanding to issue ‘Hakku Patra’ from the state government for the poor people residing at Lingappayyakadu at Mulky.
Addressing the protestors, Lingappa Nanthoor, secretary of Dalita Hakkugala Samithi, said that the government is harassing the poor people by not issuing ‘Hakku Patra’. The CPI (M) along with the beneficiaries has given the memorandum to Tashildar and deputy commissioner of various taluk on the matter, but no one has responded so far.
The state government said that without door number, the ration cards cannot be issued, but if the documents are not given to them, it is not possible for them to get door number as well as ration card also, he said.
The state government has done all the illegal work during its tenure like land scams and working for the election campaign, but not interested in working for the poor people.
Speaking after inaugurating the dharna Balakrishna Shetty, said that the committee has given memorandum to various authorities in various forms, but none of them responded to it. He also said that still 300 families in Tannirbavi area are fighting for their hakku patra and they are leading their life in 2 and a half to 3 cents land, but government is bothered only to solve their problems.
Every people want education, food and shelter and that is the reason the national leaders fought with british people. The state government is still ruling the state like britishers, he added.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said to rule the state for two and half year more and the poor people can not even guess the future of the state. The government is not even making and effort to provide ration card to poor, he said.
Comrade Krishnappa Konchady said that the committee will fight for justice and hold agitation at various levels.
