Mangalore : KPCC general secretary Ivan D’Souza criticized the state government for its LPG verification process and making the public inconvenience.
Speaking at the oppress meet held at District Congress office on July 27, Wednesday, he said that in spite of giving subsidy for LPG by central government, the state government has to not supplied the same facilities to the public.
The illegal connections and errors in documents is the fault of food and civil supplies department. The consumers have used subsidized LPG only for cooking, he added.
He said that the District Congress will stage a protest in front of the DC’s office by cooking food with firewood on July 29, Friday.
Apart from this, MLA U. T. Khader and Gopal Bhandary have submitted a memorandum to Shobha Karandlaje, the state energy and food and civil supplies minister, demanding effective regulation for LPG connections.
