Mangalore, July 29: The District Congress staged protest in front of DC Office on July 29, Friday against the confusion created over the LPG connection to the public by BJP led State Government.
During the process of the protest, the congress leaders and members held a demo by frying papad and making tea by using fire wood, depicting the future problem of public created by state government. Later Ivan D’Souza, secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee distributed the fried papad among the people gathered for the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA UT Khader said that, after the existence of BJP government in the state, they have created numerous of problems to the women and children. The government has created confusion in public about the LPG connection, hence it must be solved by and later fight on illegal connections.
He also said that the Food and civil supplies department must take strict against the LPG dealers who are selling the illegal cylinders in black market. If the public do not get the required LGP, then it will be difficult for the women to cook food which is required for daily needs.
Let the government make rule to distribute the LPG connection to the people according their rights and stop illegal connections.
Khader also said that the high command must ask resignation from all the ministers of the state government and conduct the election once again. In spite of giving 12 hours of time to CM B S Yeddyurappa by the high command, he has not resigned and told to give on July 31. He has not even respected the words of high command and it’s a shame for them, he added.
The protest was held under the leadership of KPCC general secretary Ivan D’Souza.
Other leaders like Corporator Appi, district congress women’s unit president Mamatha Gatty, Former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde and Ashraf spoke on the occasion.
Mamatha Shenoy, Sudhir TK, Kodijal Ibrahim, Mithun Rai, Praveenchandra Shetty, Denis D’Silva and others were present.
