Mangalore: The thieves had burgled the Sri Rama Bajana Mandir, Yeyyadi stealing the valuables worth approximately Rs 3 lakhs on July 31, Sunday.
The incident was noticed by the people in-charge, when the temple door was opened in the morning.
Laxmish Suvarna Derebail, secretary of temple committee revealed that the burglars have stolen a silver casing of Lord Ganapati and Rama, a gold and silver ancient coin and other valuables which will cost around Rs 3 lakhs.
He said that, there were people in the temple till night 10.30 pm and the theft would have occurred between 12.00am to 5.00am. It is not possible for a grown up people to enter temple trough the window, therefore they might have sent some child carried out the robbery, he stated.
The case has been registered in Kadri police station and investigation is on.
