Bangalore : The Union minister of state for Railways, K.H.Muniappa (KHM) informed the press on Thursday here that Bangalore, Mangalore and Byppanahalli have been awarded world class Railway stations of 1433 kms. of Railway work, 125km. of length is laid out in Karnataka, he added. The state govt, has agreed to share the cost of 7 out of 23 projects, at a cost of 2200 crore rupees, out of total Rs. 11385 crores envisaged. Track doubling work on the 362km long Hospet-Hubli-Londa-Vasco(Goa) is sanctioned for this year.
The other new line/gauge conversion/track doubling projects do not take place in coastal areas, but in old my sore and North Karnataka regions, according to his disclosures.
