Mangalore: A mechanised Environmental Support service, which is a sophisticated cleaning equipment, has been installed at the Mangalore International Airport (mia) at Kenjaru on Monday.
Inaugurating the device, the noted director of Mia, M.R Vasudeva Rao, stated that it is easy being utilized, as on airport serves as a mirror for a city to the visitors, who come to Mangalore from abroad.
As per a survey made in “customer satisfaction,” Mangalore had secured 79 points in the first round, 75 in the second round,83 in the 3rd, and 85 points in the 4th round, when Lucknow airport scored the highest 95 points in its 4th round in India. Mangalore thus has attained the top 2 position in South India, be beamed.
A local company, Durga Facility, has the tender for cleaning up the new airport like a mirror, for a 3 year period for Rs.1.23crores. Rs.33lakhs are spent on the old (Bajpe) airport terminal.
The primary focus is on hygiene, with cleaning dusters being given separate colours for the various areas of cleaning. MESS will do 70% of the MIA cleaning work and the balance by workers, the Director informed the media. We are delighted, as MIA celebrates 60 years in 2011.
