Mangalore : Bejai’s St. Francis Xavier Church inaugurated its 100th anniversary celebrations on Aug 7 Sunday.
The centenary year celebration was launched by Fr. Vincent Furtado Capuchin; Dr. Victor Machado, the parish priest; Fr Anil Roshan Lobo, the assistant parish priest; Augustine Rodrigues, the vice president of the parish pastoral parishad; Charlotte Patrao, the secretary; Sr. Mable, the UFS superior of St. Angela Convent; and Melwyn Mascarenhas, the president of ICYM.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Fr. Vincent Furtado briefed the importance of faith.  Later, the parish priest unveiled the logo of the centenary year celebrations after mass and distributed candles among the 24 gurkars, the secretary, and the vice president representing the community
The parish clergy also planted jasmine creepers and mango saplings on the occasion.
