Udupi: As the new CM is Udupi / Chikkamagalur MP, Udupi BJP members are bracing for the visit of D.V. Sadananda Gowda, on his first visit to the temple town in a new garb of heading the Govt. and state rule.
A grand and sincere welcome awaits DVS Gowda, when he visits Udupi this week, apart from his native Sullia to see his mother and 3 brothers, Kodagu to meet in – laws at Somwarpet, and Mangalore his old constituency as MP, and Puttur, his workplace as MLA twice (1999-2004) earlier on.
Uday Kumar Shetty, Udupi BJP chairman, addressing a pressmeet, on Monday in town, in formed that CM would come here within 10 days. A royal welcome at the main arch, with an open jeep procession from Hejmady to Udupi are planned for DVS, shetty informed in joyous mood.
The BJP members and people of Udupi district were happy that their man became a CM so soon. He hoped that the CM would confer enough developmental works to his constituency. Asked if a new face would be seen from Udupi in CM’s cabinet soon, shetty answered that BJP here wanted more growth plans under a senior minister. Replying to another query, whether a sitting MLA (Say Raghupathi Bhat) would vacate his seat for CM, Shetty stated that anything was possible, but not yet projected as such, as it was too early to think of such developments.
