Mangalore: The chief accused in the murder case of Prof. A.S. Ramakrishna in Sullia (administrative officer in KVG group of colleges), and a son of the founder Kurunji Venkataramana Gowda, named Dr. K.V. Renukaprasad, was given a limited and conditional bail period due to ill-health, by a fast track court in Sullia on Monday, Aug 8.
The deceased Prof. Ramakrishna was the victim of a brutal murder, conducted by hired thugs in April at the instance of accused Dr. Renukaprasad, out of bad blood and vengeance in matters of division of property, devolving upon the two sons of K V Gowda of Sullia.
The accused was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on May 9, and development sickness soon after, oftener.
His bail application was turned down twice. The other accused involved in murder, a Polali Vaman, was arrested by local police soon. Both have confessed.
A security of Rs. 1 lakh and personal guarantee of a third party, were taken by the fast truck Judge who heard this case last week and granted bail on Monday.
