Shimoga: Bookanakere Yeddyurappa, past CM, after his temporary retirement from largescale power in Bangalore, has come to his home district of Shimoga. He remained a CM (de facto) to the local officials, authorities and all admirers and fans at large, through he was not (de jure).
Yeddy came flying in a helicopter from Bangalore to Shimoga, and received a royal welcome at the helipad from all citizens.
Minister for Excise in the new Gowda’s cabinet, MP.Renukacharya, MLA Haratalu Halappa, Belur Gopalkrishna(MLA who again missed a ministership), and many other dignitaries were there at 1pm(afternoon), to after bouquets or garlands, besides the district level officials who still expect him to remotely control the state administration.
The fans fired crackers and shouted ‘victory’, as Yeddyurappa showed his ‘V’ signs. Ploice personnel were everywhere. Everyone treated the ex-CM, like a Central leader or a super CM!
Lots of vehicles went in procession behind hi private car, and security was tight led by Dy SP Shekarappa.
A district level official(under anonymity) stated that Yeddyurappa had to be given a grand welcome, irrespective of his present status(MLA), or else the executives will be in lots of trouble!Yeddy cocurred with his honour.
In a media meet in Shiomoga, the ex-CM and MLA behaved as if he was a de facto CM out of secular power. He warned fearing officials that they should maintain the trend of development well, all over the district. No work should be ignored, and leave the question of securing grants to me, he told them, convincingly, waving his hand.
He reeled out what CM DVS Gowda would do in the next few days, on tour or at office, there by invoking mass surprise.
The expansion of cabinet would take place (12 seats) on return of CM from Delhi soon, he said. He will offer flowers at KRS Dam to River Cauvery in her full flow at Mysore. There are good rains all over the state this year, reservoirs are filling up fast. The farmers are feeling happy with a sigh of relief, the ex-CM narrated in the press meet.
Then he rode in a private Benz car gifted by Industries minister Murugesh Nirani to PES college run by the controversial owners of Prerana trust in Shimoga town.
