Mangalore : Sri Chakrapani Fine Arts and Educational Trust (SCFAET) organized Children’s Art Fest-2011, a south India level fest at Hotel Deepa Comforts on August 12, Friday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary said that the children from different parts of South India participated in the drawing competition and share their thoughts with each other.
He also said that parents must encourage children for such competition and tell them winning is not important but must have the sporting spirit.
Chief Guest K P Shenoy, artist and art critic said that art has brought meaning to keep things in order. Children are endowed with special capacity in art, whereas adults have lost it. They have the capacity to see all parts in a single stop.
He also said that, there is no break in children’s painting and it is not right to judge it, since competition will change into hate and disappointment.
Children are free from realism and nature has provided children special power of scanning, he said.
AJ Shetty, chairman of AJ Medical College and Hospital presided over the event.
Around 108 Students from the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry participated in the event.
An exhibition of the paintings of children was organized at the venue.
