Mangalore: Former central minister Janardhan Poojary said that the Indian citizen residing in Gulf countries donate money for the scholarship for the poor students, in spite of having hardship to earn their living there.
He was speaking at the scholarship distribution programme organized by Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates at Sri Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple hall on August 28, Sunday.
Poojary also appreciated the initiation taken by members of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates(NE) in distributing scholarships to eligible poor students.
The amount of Rs 9 lac scholarship money was distributed to poor students during the programme. They also donated the amount of Rs 1, 85,000 for the medical expenses to the people suffering from various ailments.
Jithendra Suvarna, president of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates, Jaya Suvarna, president, Billawa Mahamandala Mulky, Praveen Attavar, vice-president, Uday Kumar Kateel, secretary, Madhava Poojary, chief secretary, Jayashree Suvarna, Krishnappa Poojary, Vishwanath Ameen, Muddu Moodubelle, H S Sairam, Jithendra Suvarna, Mohan Attavara among others were present.
