Mangalore : The event ‘Makkala Koota’, a sister concern of Balabharathi Academy, was inaugurated at Town Hall on Aug 31 Wednesday.
The members of Makkala Koota, presented a colorful cultural programme including the dance, flute play, and singing and a moral play ‘Singa Singi Samsara‘ directed by K. V. Raman, was staged on the occasion.
S. Ganesha Rao, the president of Karavali Group, inaugurated Makkala Koota by presenting an idol of Lord Krishna after taking from the cradle.
Geetha Nayak, the deputy mayor, released a karaoke music CD composed by the members. Managing trustee of Alva’s Education Foundation Vivek Alva, released a CD Of shlokas for Bharatanatyam students.
MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik felicitated the talented children.
Former president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad Harikrishna Punaroor, presided over the event. Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the president of DK Kannada Sahitya Parishad, delivered the vote of thanks.
