Udupi: Syed Kirmani, former India wicket-keeper of repute from Karnataka and Bangalore. Inaugurating a new St. Mary’s cricket (coaching) Academy at Shirva on Tuesday, stated that a thirst for excellence (in batting, bowling or fielding)Can take a young cricketer to the top, through local and state or national level tournaments.
An Alumni association has set up the Academy at college premises. Kirmani asked parents and teachers to find out the preferences of modern youth in changing times, and help accordingly.
Fr. Stany Tauro, Correspondent, presided and hoped a few players trained here world enter the national team in due course.
