Mangalore: In a sarcastic speech made before pressmen here on Friday, KPCC leader Vijay Kumar Shetty, asked BJP’s tallest leader Lal Krishna Advani to start his (LK’s) Ratha-yatra against corruption from Shikaripur in Shimoga district, where ex-CM Yeddyurappa practised corruption and amassed wealth illegally.
Shetty described BJP as a party “neck-deep in Corruption”, in the only South Indian state it is ruling now. He added that it was an irony to start Advani’s Ratha yatra elsewhere, and not in Shimoga, where the former CM(Yeddy)had  his home constituency. The Yatra could start either from Bellary, or Shikaripur where Scam-tainted ex-Cm once practised corrupt ways, Shetty pointed out.
Advani was now competing for a place in the list of anti corruption crusaders. He forgets that Karnataka, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand were full of corruption. Advani had destroyed communal harmony in 1992, with his Rath-yatra from Somnath in Gujarat during the Ayodhya capturing struggle.
Unmindful of rampant corruption in his own party in many parts, Advani points to corruption and public awareness all over India, Shetty ridiculed. Shashidhar Hegde, Harinath and TK Sudhir among other Congress leaders were present.
