Honnali: A threatening letter issued from Soraba town of Shimoga by a miscreant, reached minister M.P. Renukacharya(Excise) on Saturday, October 8 here to warn that his Honnali and Bangalore residences would be blown up by bombs if he did not place a black suitcase filled with Rs.20 lakhs in currency notes on the night of October 12 at the Honnali Bhadrakali temple.
The details are so vivid that police simply have to follow the instructions in the guise of the minister’s followers or staff members to capture the mischief mongers now at large involved in the hit-or-miss episode.
However, there is a snag that the letter-writer has indicated that the amount was needed to strengthen LTTE as a new outfit, but where is not mentioned in the threatening letter.
The youthful minister made it clear that he would not budge or bow to such indecent threats coming from LTTE, or anyone. He attributed the act to some mischievous browbeaters. He said he never took it seriously, as people’s blessings were on him.
He said the concerned police who told him of the letter, would trace out and arrest the miscreant soon.
