Mangalore : The soft skill training programme for nurse staff was organized by Mangalore Ladies Circle 82 at Wenlock Hospital on July 14, Wednesday.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj said that, the government hospital staffs must work beyond their regular working hours and create a friendly atmosphere for the patients. If the staffs with best of their ability and keep the patients happy with the treatment, the additional infrastructural to the hospital will be provided by the government.
Most of the people prefer private hospitals to government, because government hospitals fall short in providing good treatment to the patients, hence it must be improved and all must work for the betterment of the patient.
Dr B Shantaram Baliga said that each and every staffs must give greater attention to medical issues since maternal mortality rates and infant mortality rates are increasing day by day, more care towards the medicine given to the patients will help to control this problem.
He also said that these kinds of programmes must take place in every hospital and the doctor’s participation in such similar kind of programme is necessary, which help to build human values.
Carol Pais Coelho was the trainer of the programme. Sonali, present chairperson, Preetham Kamath incoming chairperson, Latha D’Souza, Dr Saroja from Ladies circle 82 and Wenlock matron Sunanda Boloor participated at the event.
