Mangalore : Dr M V Shetty Memorial trust was instituted in the memory of Dr M Venugopal Shetty established in the year 1985. Dr M V Shetty College of Nursing, Dr M V Shetty Trust ® is one of the pioneer institutions in the field in the field of graduate nursing under the private sector in Karnataka which came to birth in the year 1987, said Dr M R Shetty, trustee of the college.

Speaking at the press meet held at press club on October 19, Wednesday, he said that as a part of its 25 years excellence since 1985, the trust and the college have jointly decided to celebrate the event by organizing a series of educational and other programmes every month in this present academic year as Silver Jubilee Celebration.

The silver jubilee celebrations will be held on October 21, Friday and the chief guest of the function will be Dr V S Acharya, minister for Higher Education. Dr Sriprakash K S , vice chancellor , Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and B N Muninarayanappa, Nurse Registrar, Karnataka Nursing Council, Bangalore will be the guest of honour. Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, secretary of trust will preside ove the event.
