Mangalore: The city Police arrested one Qasim Kutti, the regional manager of the firm that was given the sub-contracting work at MRPL site, where a blast occurred inside a crude oil tank during welding, that killed a worker(Mulla) and injured 4 others recently.

The dead person was identified only as Mulla of Orissa, doing the welding work. Rohim(25) is in critical conditions, with burns on his body.

Mulla, it appears, died in the presence of his own father, who was also a labourer there. The MRPL Company has promised employment with higher wages to the unfortunate father of Late Mulla, whose body was taken to Suratkal graveyard on Wednesday(October 19) for last rites.

Mulla’s family lived in katipalla since a year, and is due to receive Rs 6 lakh as accident insurance and Rs.6.5 lakhs from other accounts.
