Bangalore: The ruling BJP has reversed its stand on LK Advani’s visit by helicopter from Kerala borders to Bangalore on October 30 and agreed to make a resounding success of his presence in Basavangudi College grounds, the same evening.
Home minister Ashok oversees the preparations. But his involvement in a court case on land matters is likely to keep him away from the raised dais.
H.N. Ananth Kumar, BJP national secretary, has asked Hubli MP Prahlad Joshi to take charge of this burden now.
Joshi informed media on Tuesday that all efforts would be made to protect Advani from any embarrassment arising out of jailed BJP leaders in the state. But he was not clear on who will decorate the dais, as main guests at the public meeting.
Joshi went on the say that people in Bangalore city region and the D.K /Udupi/(North) Kanara District, have been alerted on LK Advani’s impending coastal tour on a chariot to stir public vigilance about black money and corruption levels in trade and public life.
All Morcha (wings) office-bears were called to Bangalore on October 28 to review preparatory steps to greet Advani’s Jan Chetan Chariot journey in Karnataka, Joshi said.
