Mangalore: BJP/ABVP/Youth Morcha members are straining every nerve to make Advani’s Jan Chetan Yatra a big event on the coastal route of Karnataka from Kasaragod to Karwar, until it crosses into Goa.
But there is no large scale response from the people that they expect with skeletons falling out daily from BJP cupboards and MLAs going to jail.
The chariot is expected to cross into D.K borders from Kerala on Sunday and after a centre maidan meeting at 11 am on Monday go them from Hejmadi into Udupi district on Monday after noon (October 31).
In Udupi, the carriage will move on Kalsanka road to Rajangana, creating a security problem for the policemen.
Advani is accompanied by CM D.V. Sadananda Gowda and state BJP Chief K.S. Eshwarappa, besides national secretary Ananth Kumar, Genearal secretary Ravishankar Prasad and state supervisor Dharmendra Pradhan Udupi minister V.S. Acharya and others said Uday Kumar Shetty, who heads Udupi BJP unit.
The BJP will face black flags from Congress activists in Udupi on October 30, in retaliation for its chariot showmanship.
The Rajangan meeting place will hold 25,000 in audience.
At Talapady in Mangalore, minister Palemar will greet Advani party and his other companies.
In a Tenkasi (Tamil Nadu) meeting, Advani challenged congress leaders to face enquiry in their own corruption cases.
Advani arrives by plane at 9 am on October 31 in Bajpe airport from Bangalore to reach local circuit House.
A marathon walk from Belthangady to Mangalore or October 30, a distance of 60km., is arranged by BJP activists, to great Jan Chetan carriage near Talpady borders, according to K. Padmanabha Kottari, D.K BJP unit chief. The walk starts at 6-30 am from Belthangady Kuthyaru Sri Somnatheshwar Temple with a special puja. Minister Palemar and MP Nalin Kumar will be present with an elderly local leader Nemiraja Shetty at the Taluk Maidan to commence the walk of 60kms on October 30 morning to Mangalore.
K. Monappa Bhandary, lawyer and BJP leader, informed pressmen on Friday that several walking youth member / activists teams will go round Mangalore region in many places to converge at Central Maidan for a public meeting on October 31 (Monday) noon to hear L.K. Advani Several local leaders were present at the preparatory meetings and local padayatras.
