Mangalore : Padma Bhushan Dr. B. M. Hegde inaugurated the international conference titled “Translation Research: Nurses Making a Difference” at Fr. Muller College of Nursing on Nov 2 Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that modern education is just getting some information and not knowlegde.
He said that nurses have greater responsiblity and attachment towards patients becuse they spend more time with patients than doctors.
He also condemned the poor quality of research articles publishing in medical journals, and urged to find out undiscovered concepts that can benefit humanity.
Dr. K. Reddamma, the nodal officer of NIMHANS, said on the occasion that nurses must be more research oriented.
Dr. Anice George, the dean of Manipal College of Nursing; Prof. Favrod Jerome from the University of Applied Sciences in Western Switzerland; and Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, the director of FMCI were present on the dias.
