Nitte: According to AVM Ramesh Karnik, director of Nitte Institute of Management, an engineer is not only skilled technically, but also can be good administrator or a finance expert, or a good human resources person.
But other graduates may become good administrators, but hardly they can be called competent technologists.
He was imaugurating a technical meet called “Tech Nidarshan(example)2011’’ at Nitte’s Institute of Technology on Friday(Nov.4).
With sound technical Knowledge, students could emerge as a good administrator in the long run, he informed. Togain success in a profession, they need a positive attitude both at home and the workplace. He must have a healthy mind and body, who wants to run an institution, keeping aside bad habits all the time. This improves his skills in human relations building a reputation, and when he develops special skill in solving problems with computer-related Capacities, he overwhelms failures during his study period.
Prof Karnik asked the N.I.T students to choose civil services, should they desire to benefit human society, with services, should they desire to benefit human society, with their technical and administrative(Building) abilities.
Dr. S.Y. Kulkarni, Principal, who presided on the occasion, termed engineers as thinkers, creators, and lucky people.
They could create facilities needed for them. They could succeed wherever they are, facing challenges such as reforms in technical education. The present tech event (Nidarshan) helps to exhibit the various tech talents of students in one area, he pronounced.

About 1200 students from 50 engineering colleges all over India were present, and took part in different tech events.
