Mangalore : Justice Michael Saldanha, the Karnataka state president of AICC said that he will bring the kannada version of Church attack of 2008 and it will be released in Mangalore and Udupi in the end of this month.
Speaking at the press meet held at Woodland Hall on November 8, Tuesday, he said that around thousands of copies of Cd’s are sold in Delhi and Calcutta.
He also said that he has received the message to his report from the president of USA, UK and France and it will also be published very soon.
Saldanha said that most of the ministers and rich people are getting anticipatory bail, but the the people who threw stones during the attack are still suffering in the jail from past three and half years.
He said that he would not like to term as ‘Church Attack’ but instead it he would like to say as Violence directed against the minorities. Speaking about the recent St Alphanso Church attack, the accused is claimed to be insane, hence he questioned that if he was insane he would attack on any religious places and would not choose only for Christian religious place. He urged the government to take stern legal action against the accused.
This is a kind of terrorism and we want economic progress and harmony and not violence, he said. The state government is not even bother go into the root of the cause of this attack and not even identified the individuals. The victims who are in jail from three years do not afford to appoint a lawyer and come out safely, he said. He asked the government to take action on the accused based on his reports.
Today the ministers even after getting the arrest warrant go directly to hospital instead of jail and enjoy the special facility provided like air conditioned room and five star hotel facility. He asked who spends on these special facilities to these rich accused. They are not actually required to go to hospital since there is medical ailment in jail for every common people, he said.
