Mangalore : Muneer (19) was arrested by Kadri police for alleged involvement in robbing batteries and laptops on Nov 20 Sunday.

Muneer had made away with the batteries stolen from several Vrishaba buses parked near AJ Hospital on Oct 22. Later Ramaprasad Punja, the owner of the flat, had lodged a complaint with the Mangalore East Police.

C. Kiran of Mangalore East Police Station, on Nov 20 after receiving a tip that a man was behaving in a suspicious manner near Kadri Park passed on the information to the police force, after which the officials nabbed the man. On interrogation, he revealed that he and his friends had robbed many laptops and bus batteries in the city.

The police have seized 14 large batteries, a laptop, and a bus that was stolen from the grounds of AJ Hospital worth Rs. 7,17,000 from Muneer.

The police team comprised DCP Dharmaiah, Inspector C. Kiran, Sukumar K., Subraman K. N., Yashwanth Konchady, Veerabhadra Suratkal, and others, working under directions from Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.
