Mangalore : Keserda Gobbu, the first village sports event organised by Nagabramha Yuvaka Mandala of Paduperar was held on a paddy field at Paduperar Brahman Baldy Temple near Bajpe on Nov 20 Sunday.
Jangama Mutt Seer Shri M. N. P. Shivaprakash Swamiji and Shri Balakrishna Shetty of Alake Guttu were the chief guests of the event.
The event comprised competitions in Kabbaddi for men, tug of war for both men and women, and races. The women’s competitions were held in the morning and the men’s competitions were held in the afternoon.
The valedictory ceremony started at 6:00 p.m. with Shri Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Shri Kshethra Vajradehi Gurupur, Shri Vardhamana Durgaprasad Shetty of Golidadi Guttu Gurupura, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Janardhana Gowda, and Balakrishna Shetty Alake Guttu participating.
The sports event was organized by the Shri Nagabramha Yuvaka Mandala in collaboration with the Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Grameena Yojana.
Krishna J. Palemar, the district-in-charge minister; Gangadhar Rai of Mundabettu Guttu; Rafayil, the president of Paduperar Panchayath; and Prathamchandra Shetty of Branabettu Guttu were also present.
