Karkala: Tradegy struck 3 Ayyappa devotees in black clothes in 2 separate incidents, cutting short then pilgrimage to Sabarimalai here, due to drowning.

Sadananda Moolya (31) of Five cents colony, and Lokesh (35) of Mantrady village lost their lives in River Falguni  after lunch, when whirlpools pulled them, in during a bath. The bodies were found by local people and fire brigade (from Moodabidri) on Sunday.

Sathish Devadiga (26) another devotee of Sabarimalai, from Pulkeri by pass area, drowned in Ram Samudra in Karkala on Sunday, while taking a bath was not well. Sathish was Appu’s only Son, working in a local shop. Moodabidri CI Thimmiah is looking into these. Cases of drowning deaths.
