Mangalore : Speaking at the meeting, Chandrakumar, the chief operating officer of AIE, said that R. P. Shahi, the former joint director general of civil aviation, has been appointed as an observer to help the Mangalore plane crash victim’s families to claim for the compensation procedure which will be held for five days from Dec 12.
The national carrier expects to compensate the families of all victims before Dec 25.
Mr. Chandrakumar said that the family members of air crash victims can contact Mr. Shahi when their needs are disagreed with H. D. Nanavathi of Mulla and Mulla.
He also said that among the victims’ families, the 53 families, who have hired a Swedish law firm called M/s Stephen and Erickson, have to withdraw case to claim compensation through Mulla and Mulla.
Further, he said the amount of Rs. 60 crore has already been distributed among the 70 families of 77 victims
Chandrakumar promised the victims’ families that that the newly appointed observer and the carrier’s law firm will take the responsibility to maintain the interest of each family while distributing the compensation.
