Udupi: A large procession was taken out from Udupi service bus stand to the Lions’ Bhavan in Brahmagiri on Monday afternoon, the Venue of CPI(M) 4th district convention for 2 days.
G.V. Srirami Reddy, a former MLA addressed the huge gathering. He described Karnataka as the most corrupt state in India. In various state departments, the need of the hour is to fight Corruption. His party has opposed the Union Government policies, and the support of regional parties was going importance. The Centre’s unhelpful policies had only led to price hikes in needy Commodities.
A resolution passed at the local conclave was to urge state and Central governments, to take action UPCL which has resumed work after a month’s halt. Another asked the Government to complete Varahi irrigation project. Third resolution spoke of rejuvenating the Brahmavara Sugar factory. Other resolution were about starting inter-state railway services, and to allot houses to needy people.
