Bangalore : S. Bangarappa, former Chief Minister of Karnataka is no more. He breathed his last early morning of Dec 26 at around 12.40 AM. He was hospitalized for renal complications and was admitted at the Mallya hospital. He was 79.

A formidable name in the Karnataka political arena, Bangarappa was a backward community leader highlighting the issues of the minorities in the state. With an impressive career, he was currently a JD(S) member. He represented Shimoga constituency in the 14th Lok Sabha.

He had tried his political luck flitting between various political parties including the Congress, SP and the BJP.
