Mangalore : Mangalore police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, said that police department is ready with the security arrangements for the 17th National Youth Festival, to be held from Jan 12, Thursday.
He was speaking at the press conference held in his office on Jan 10 Tuesday. Speaking about the traffic movement, he said that that traffic movement will be restricted at some areas and several roads will be closed to the public for the free flow of traffic.
The road leading from MG Road will be closed during daytime, to make the participants convenient to reach the TMA Pai Convention Centre, the venue for some of the competitions of the youth festival.
The police commissioner also said that security will be arranged for delegates at 22 venues across Mangalore and police will patrol the city 24 hours per day. Around 900 policemen each, under the leadership of an ACP, will be deployed to maintain law and order in the city.
The delegates and participants can dial 100 for any assistance in these five days event, he said.
