Mangalore: The Bharatiya Thiya Samaj, formed under K. Narayan(Mumabai)’s initiative in 1978 with its head office in Mahakalipadpu here, has unanimously elected an advocate, Sadashiva Ullal as president for the current year on Monday(January 9) in a general body meeting of the Samaj members held at Sankappa Hall under Padmanabha Kadapa’s chairmanship.
31 other members elected for 3 years formed the Central Council, which elected various office-bearers. The samaj has jurisdiction over 18 Bhagwathi temples and high memberships in Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra.
Janardhana B., is the new general secretary. There are 3 vice-president and 3 zonal secretaries.
The new President called upon all elected representatives elderly members and central councilor to join hands to uplift the society, and tread the path shown by BrahmaSri Naarayana Guru, by ensuring that all sister concerns under the Samaj functioned efficiently.
