New Delhi: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has announced it will file an FIR against former chief minister VS Achuthanandan under the Prevention of Corruption Act on Friday.

The FIR will be submitted to the Calicut Vigilance Court.

The FIR will be filed under Section 13(1)(D) of Prevention of Corruption Act and under Section 120 of the Indian Penal Code (Criminal conspiracy) and 201 (Disappearance of evidence).

Achuthanandan had allegedly allotted government land to his relatives in Kasargod in violation of government norms.

The former CM, however, called it a political vendetta by the ruling government.
