Mangalore : The Institution of Engineers, Mangalore Local Centre will organized a Twenty Seventh National Convention of Environmental Engineers on the Theme ‘Green Technology’ on January 24, Tuesday at 10 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Deepa Comfort on Jan 21, Saturday Er Balakrishna, Chairman of Organizing Committee said that the National Convention of a division of the Institution of Engineer, is the apex activity held once a year aiming at achievement of technical and professional growth through intensive technical content and mutual interaction.
He also said that this is the activity, which also aims at establishing liaison between the Institution, its members, Academicians, Industries and the policy makers. The National Convention will be a multi-activity capsule comprising of National Seminar, Memorial Lecture, State – of-the- art Lectures, Felicitation of Eminent Engineers, Felicitations of IEI Young Engineers Awards, Technical visit and technical exhibition and workshop.
Nitte Univerity chancellor N Vinay Hegde will inaugurate the convention and Dr Vinod Tare, professor of civil engineering will be the guest of honour. Er A K Sinha, chairman, Environment Engineering Division Board, IEI will preside over the event.
He also said that N V Modak Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Dr Vinod Tare.
The three eminent engineers like M M Kamath, V Hanumanulu and Dr Mhaisalkar will be felicitated on the occasion. The young engineer awards will be presented to three Engineers for their contribution to the field of Environmental engineering, he added.
Vishwanath Puthran, Ashok Alva, S Srihari and Satish Rao Idya were present at the press meet.
