Moodabidri: The Mangalore University’s inter-collegiate ball badminton tournament has begun at Vidyagiri on Saturday last, January 21.

ASI Ramesh Kumar inaugurated the 2-day meet at the campus, and stressed that studies and sports had to go together for mind and body building of a personality in the making at college levels.

Sports activities create health and wealth in young persons. Just as natural food and sleep activities cannot be sacrificed, sports and other extra-curricular activities should never be neglected, Kumar urged.

IP Thimmaiah AK in a speech praised Alva’s institutions as they pursued a balanced diet in education, with sports allotment. The way Alva’s Campus functioned was commendable in every aspect.

Principal (Prof) Kurien welcomed the gathering. Physical education director Thilak Shetty thanked all. Lecturer (Dr) Yogish Kairody conducted the proceedings. The Tourney ended on Sunday evening.
