Mangalore: Ramnagar MP and JD-S state unit chairman, H.D. Kumaraswamy was in Mangalore at Kuppepadavu, attending his party convention on Sunday afternoon(January 22), to find a foothold in coastal region.
Speaking on the occasion, he asked young voters to give up the “Communal” BJP and give his party an opportunity to serve people at large, after the next Assembly elections. He wanted local people to elect JD-S MLAs from the coast and see the difference in their(or his) fortunes. As former CM, he had ruled for 20 months in 2006-07, and made all the difference from Congress or BJP.
He charged that both Congress and BJP had failed to provide good government in the state. In his 20 months of rule, he had banned lottery. He did not want to run the state affairs on sinful money, he added.
Talking to pressmen later, he told that JD-S would set up its own candidate, for Udupi MP by-polls. A Candidate would be name shortly. He again showed his dwide and rule’ policy by telling them he did not know whether such a candidate would be from Udupi or chikkamagalu.
He did not dispute the High court decision to order a probe in his and SM Krishna’s role in illegal mining.
