Mangalore: A national level art festival, daintily called ‘Art Beat’ has commenced in St. Aloysius’ College on Friday on the light house hill. It is organised by Faculty of Arts. The theme given was ‘Greenomania’ sounding like love of nature, otherwise. The event though of creating an ideal world by protecting and preserving ecology, also natural, resources, as is done at Pilikula Dhma these days.
NMPT Dy. Chairman TNS Murthy was chief guest at SAC., and B.S. Karkera who heads MSEZ was the guest of honour. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, rector, presided on the occasion.
Over 15 colleges have participated in programmes in Advertisement making, photography, street plays, miming, graffiti writings, creating wealth in waste materials, movies, quiz, best personality, debate and so on. Phew!.
Valedictory is on February 4, with ports minister Krishna Palemar as chief guest and C.D. Kumar, a senior environment officer as guest of honour. SAC Principle Fr.Swebert D’Silva presides, says a note.
