Mangalore: Fayaz was murdered on the night of June 2, 2009 by Mustafa with aliases to his name of Puttur taluk and Faizal of Bantwal Taluk. All of them were dock workers at old city harbour.

The judgment delivered on Monday, Feb 6, by Judge G.D. Narasimha murthy, imposed life imprisonment on both convicts who were also asked to pay a fine of Rs.5,000 each or under go six months of additional jail sentence.

The culprits were petty thieves, and were jailed in Kannur earlier, by Railway police.

The deceased had informed policemen against them, or so they believed.

They made a plan to eliminate him, and crushed his head by boulders in a Railway goods yard.

Inspector Tilakchandra filed a charge sheet after investigation into matter, for Bunder police station.
