Mangalore : Honourable Minister for Corporate Affairs Dr M Veerappa Moily said that Federation of Indian Export Organizations, (Southern Region) in association with the Organizing Committee of Exporters Convention, Mangalore Airport and Kanara Chambers of Commerce and Industry will organize ‘Karnataka: Export Vision – 2020’ at Dr TMA Pai Convention Centre on Feb 13, Monday.
Speaking at press meet held at Hotel Ocean Pearl on Feb 8, Wednesday, he said that Mangalore is the real Gateway for Industries and High trade. It is a Gateway in the Southern India after Bombay.
He said that in regard to port, we have lot of potential and this district is well connected with NH 66, 17, 48 and 13. We have SEZ in the country to give big picture of export.
The conclave will discuss on Foreign Trade Policy, Shipping, Banking and Infrastructure. He said that this foreign policy envisages doubling of the country’s share of global exports by 2020.
He said that the decision to organize a conclave of state exporters in Mangalore is in a bid to make the state an ideal destination for exponential export growth. Stating that this event is the first of its kind in the state, he said that its most important feature is the collaboration of the union ministry for corporate affairs.
Walter D’Souza, the chairman of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations said that Dr. Veerappa Moily, the union minister of corporate affairs will inaugurate the event. Honourable Minister for Industry Murugesh Nirani will preside over the event.
Jyotiradithya Scindia, Honourable Minister FOR State and Commerce and Industries will be the chief guest. Dr Anup K Pujari, DGFT, Govt of India will deliver the key note address.
Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, MLA K Abhayachandra Jain, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Indian Overseas Bank Chairman M Narendra and Padmashree Rafeeue Ahmed, president FIEO, New Delhi will be the guest of honour. The Valedictory ceremony will be held at 5.15 pm on the same day.
