Mangalore : Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited (KMDCL) chairman N. B. Aboobakkar, speaking at the press conference held at Press Club on Feb 11 said that the allegations of misappropriated government funds which has been published by a Kannada daily on Feb 7 is false.
Producing the documents as proof, he said that a JD(S) worker called Amir Khan had accused him of misusing government funds, but that these allegations were baseless.
He also said that he had visited every district in the state seven times to speak with the minorities and create awareness of government welfare schemes for minorities. When he came to know about the pathetic condition of minority communities surviving in flood-prone regions of Karnataka, he had arranged the amount of Rs. 3.20 crore in compensation and loan amounts for 3090 beneficiaries under the KMDCL’s micro loan scheme.
He also revealed various projects and benefits give to the minorities by the state governemtn and their implementation.
He said that after taking charge as the chairman of KMDCL, he has officially received benefits such as car, house rent, DA, TA, and others facilities from the state government. But Amir Khan is doing brokerage business in the government matter.
He also said that Amir Khan had taken a loan to purchase an auto rickshaw in his name and a loan of Rs. 33,250 in his wife’s name to run a baby-sitting, which has not been repaid to the present day.
Aboobakkar informed that he has drafted a letter to the CM demanding to take action against Amir Khan under the Goonda Act as he is a rowdy sheeter involved in criminal activities.
Giving the brief on the achievements, he said that KMDCL has now risen from the 56th position to the first position due to effective implementation of minority development schemes and projects.
