Udupi: Udupi ZP chief Katpady Shanakar Poojary on Saturday inaugurated it is St. Cicily Primary School auditorium and told the audience attending 7th international children’s festival, convened by children’s India Bangalore, that there was a child in all us and as we grow old, we long to be a child again at heart.
He recalled that he saw Kannada films like Chomana Dubi, Bhakta Kanakadas, and Gora Kumar, but the children’ films he Saw in his younger day more depth and meaning in them than many adult films.
He asked student to see children’s films more after, and that DC might provide the projectors to screen such films, at week-end occasions in schools.
Sister Shaila, DDPI N. Madhyastha, and several officials were present. Delivering his Keynote address, children’s India Bangalore chief N.R. Nanjunde Gowda said that his institution had popularised children’s films all over the state.
He asked the DK/Udupi district administration to provide the basic facilities for such programmes.
‘Naanu Ganghi’ in Kannada, and two foreign films (Iran and Sweden) were shown on the hearty occasion.
