Mangalore : ACP Ravindra Gadadi has been relieved of his post and in turn was posted as the special duty officer in Mangalore police commissioner’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that he has been relieved since he did not handle the rape case, where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped for almost a year by two men. The accused Mubarak and Waheed could have been arrested if ACP had taken appropriate action against them.
Previous night ACP Gadadi has called Ashraf, the former mayor of Mangalore to the Bunder Police Station to interrogate regarding the shelter provided by him to one of the accused. Meanwhile a group of Ashraf’s supporters gathered at the police station and began protesting against the move. Later commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh had rushed to the police station to warn ACP.
