Karkala: A dying Hindu wife (Shalini) pleaded for the life of her husband (Sudhakar) who killed her in a drunken dash on February 21. ‘Don’t harm my husband were her last words as she lay dying, after the drunken husband stabbed her, and she was admitted to a hospital in Mangalore by noon, and died in the afternoon.
Sudhakar Poojary (36) will remember his dead wife Shalini (35) all his life in Utter remorse and sorrow, by way of punishment.
Both lived in Kolajalu. On Tuesday morning, Sudhakar pestered Shalini for money for drinks, and was enraged at her refused. He stabbed her and ran away not before threatening others of dire consequences.
The knife was in Shalini’s abdomen, when she reached the hospital in Mangalore and doctors removed it.
Shalini and Sudhakar were married for 9 years only. She left two daughters to take care of her drug-addicted husbands, who had purchased a new knife on Monday, to kill his wife who used to roll beedies to make a living. Rural police in Karkala have registered a criminal case against killer husband, Sudhakar Poojary.
