Udupi: As already announced in newspapers beforehand, people went out in large numbers to see a spectacular event in the sky happening on Thursday(Feb.23), connected to astronomy.
At the Malpe beach, Poorna Prajna College amateur astronomers had provided some facilities to gaze at the night sky from 6PM to 7-30PM around Sunset, on Thursday, for common people who yearned for an experience of a lifetime, while watching 4 planets on a clear sky.
The demonstration show was arranged by Dr. A.P. Bhat(PPC) and Kishore Hande(Govt. Junior College), for excited people to see Venus(Shukra), Jupiter(Guru) and Mars together, apart from Mercury(tiny Budha), at 21degree from the horizon. Venus at 40 degree and Jupiter at 60degree, were located in the sky.
On Saturday, February 25, crescent Moon(Chandra in a curve) passes 3 degree to Venus, making a lovely pair of 2 planets, fair and yellowish.
Pejawar Mutt Junior Swami Vishwaprasanna was one of the ardent sky gazers on Thursday.
