Bangalore : Reacting to the novel method of protest against Congress leaders’ Padayatra to Bellary adopted by Health Minister Sriramulu after his visit to a temple in Bellary to avoid the ‘evil eye’ of Congress on Bellary, R.V. Deshpande KPCC chief who led the Padayatra from Bengaluru to Tumkur on Sunday, told pressmen on Wednesday at the KPCC office, that while deprecating such a foolish act by a BJP Minister, Congress leaders were not bothered about what he did to his head or where he went to pray. He urged the CM and the Governor to take suitable action against the clean shaven Sriramulu. If the Health Minster is behaving only to counter the Congress Padayatra, it was not the right thing to do, said RVD, the KPCC chief on July 29 here.

It is a fact that Sriramulu had shaved his head off to surprise everyone who saw him on Wednesday, like a pilgrim returning from Tirupathi. The pressmen were shocked to see him in Bellary in a totally different look of an egghead. The Minister explained the situation that there was no vow at work, but he wanted to protect Bellary from the evil eye of the opposition Congress walkers. He said he would wear black clothes until Aug 1 or even later on. He said he would consume only vegetarian food, sleep on the floor and fast, as a counter – protest against Congress movements in Bellary. His appearance will not change until Sri Varamahalaxmi festival, he insisted.
The Congressmen had roped in the state Governor in their bid to usurp power, but he would hold meetings and walks all over Bellary to encounter the vile Congress intentions.
