Kasaragod: Three (3) pipe bombs were found on the 4th railway track near Cheruvathur Railway station on Saturday morning (March3). But by then the Cheruvathur –Mangalore train had passed over them, so passengers were lucky to Survive.
The bombs were spotted by a passer by who alerted the police who rushed to the spot and covered the objects with sand-bags. Soon the place was Swarming with detective and Sniffer dogs, apart from bomb disposal squads and town police officials.
The police argued that a gang of miscreants wanted to derail the train moving in tracks, and to cause a tragedy. Senior Govt. officers directed the railway police protect lives of passengers, and running trains No sabotage take place on bridge or other places the police were informed by anti social persons placing boulders or bombs on tracks ever officers warned.
