Mangalore : Speaking on the arrangements of police officials on the election day, IGP Prathap Reddy (Western Range) on March 17, Saturday said that in order to control the law and order in the election venue, the chief election officers present in all the booths can give the information through messages to the special police control room number 9901199011.
He also said that there is total of 1633 booths and since the signal problem will occur, sector mobiles will be given to one officers present in each booths. The DK police department in association with Zestwing Company is working from 15 days and installed software that can take the incoming messages and also send the messages in reply to get the two way communication.
He also said that a total of 2300 mobiles will be used including 1633 mobiles and additional 400 for additional officials for the internal election process.
The department has also built a date base in the name of SIMPLEE K, which states that Smart Information Messenger for Police and Law Enforcement Engagement- Karnataka. This data centre is the stand alone centre which can send 5000 messages can be sent in ten seconds when required. It has also installed Unicode so that it can access messages sent in any languages.
The department has deployed 2453 constables, 1361 home guards, 390 head constables, 180 Sub Inspectors, 180 ASI, 40 Circle Inspectors and 12 Dy SP force. The central government has also appointed 10 companies.
On the mustering day, the police officials along with their election officers from the time they start and end of election process has to send messages of the situation report to the control room number by typing SR give a space and type Safely reached or Situation Peaceful for example.
They have to also send messages from the 7 am of its commencement and every two hours and give the vote details like VP 105 for example. While in case of emergency, they have to type EM and give the detail of the details, he added.
