Mangalore : As per the major raid operation, the Lokayukta leap down on RTOs across the state including Mangalore on Friday March 30.
Mangalore Lokayukta SP D S Jagamayyanavar said that the raid was part of a state-wide operation across state RTOs.
He also said that Lokayukta officials in Mangalore RTO raid did not find anything wrong, and that all receipts and financial records were in order.
Speaking on the occasion, Inspector Uday Nayak said that they had checked the cash declaration register, which is present in every financial organization so that RTO employee has to enter the money in his or her possession every morning and do the same while leaving in the evening. If there is any difference in the amount, they will be enquired.
They said that they had checked the register of 35 employees at RTO according to which there was Rs 30 less according to what they said and it is not a problem since they might have spent for the lunch or any necessity. Hence the register was also clear.
C Mallikarjuna, regional transport officer said that it was a sudden raid but the Lokayukta found all the register very clear at office.
