Udupi: A man was killed in an accident when a goods tempo collided with a tanker at Katpady on NH 66 on April 7 Saturday.
The deceased is said to be the driver of the tempo whose identity is not yet ascertained.
The tempo was plying from Mangalore to Udupi and the tanker was returning from Goa to Kochi after unloading the chemicals.
According to the sources, the tempo driver was driving reckless manner and had severe injuries. Later he was admitted to a hospital in Udupi and he died at 4:15 p.m.
Tanker driver Nagaraj and cleaner have escaped unhurt. Kaup police have registered a case as per the complaint lodged by Nagaraj.
Both the tempo and the tanker have both been damaged.
