Mangalore: The Puttur Mangalore Co-operative CAMPCO is not only making chocolates for children, but selling them in far-off Madhya Pradesh to the MP state Co-operative.(Milk) Dairy Federation, to keep them in 398 milk parlours all over the state to attract customers.
On Monday, Konkodi Padmanabha, CAMPCO chief told reporters that the Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) would be signed in the presence of CM DVS Gowda (who is now in New Delhi at an Internal Security meeting called by PM for all CMs about NCTC), and his counterpart Shivaraj Singh Chauhan of MP state in June next.
Subhash Mandge of MP Co-op. Dairy Federation who was present, said that all Co-operatives should come together on the theme of Cooperative activity.
Padmanabha revealed that CAMPCO had a tie-up with Milma of Kerala and Nandini of Karnataka, to sell CAMPCO Chocolates at their parlours.
In Bihar, ‘Sudha’ Cooperative would be roped in and in Rajasthan, ‘Saras’ will be asked to sell CAMPCO Chocobars.
In 2011-12, the production crossed 16,000 MT. CAMPCO earned a business of Rs.160 crores in an year. CAMPCO Chocolates were sold to Nepal(Rs5 crores) and to African countries(Rs 3.6 crores).
There were several projects on the anvil in 2012.
